Humanitarian Aid for Palestinians
Since October, when our Region was engulfed in a new era of violence,
Palestinians all over the West Bank and Gaza have endured many
hardships. Most Palestinian villages and towns are now approaching a
state of collapse. The medical situation is particularly grim. Lacking
medical insurance, income, and freedom of movement, Palestinians are
unable to obtain basic medical treatment.
During this period, the Community of Wahat al Salam ~ Neve Shalom has
taken upon itself to organize small-scale humanitarian projects, to
help, in a modest way.
So far the Village has performed the following actions:
 | Organized a donation to the Al-Mukassad hospital in Jerusalem,
| Donated money towards medical supplies for the hospital in Tulkarem, West Bank.
| Collected clothing for the Kalandia Refugee Camp near Ramallah.
| NSWAS school children donated holiday gifts to an orphanage in
East Jerusalem.
| The School for Peace is coordinating a project conducted by Physicians
for Human Rights - Israel and sponsored by the European
Community, to equip and run an emergency clinic in the town of Azoun,
near Tulkarem, in the West Bank. In addition, the EC project
includes three
days of free medical treatment, with distribution of medicines. |

We hope that NSWAS friends and supporters also feel the urgent need
to support humanitarian projects in Palestine. We therefore call upon
you to join us in our efforts to collect funds for basic medical
assistance.
All donations received will be distributed according to the most
urgent needs identified by our Palestinian partners. We will keep you
promptly informed on how they are spent.
