THE COMMUNITY

In Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam (NS/WAS) which means
"Oasis of Peace" in Hebrew and Arabic, an equal number of Jewish and Palestinian
families live, work and educate their children in a community of peaceful co-existence and
equality. It is the only such village in Israel. Democratically governed by the residents,
NS/WAS is not affiliated with any political party or movement. The "Oasis of
Peace" gives tangible expression to its vision of peaceful co-existence through
extensive educational programs conducted at the village, at universities and with
Palestinian and Jewish community organizations.
LOCATION

On a hilltop halfway between Tel Aviv/Jaffa and
Jerusalem, over-looking the historic Ayalon/Alsarar Valley, the community is expanding on
land leased from the Latrun Monastery.

The village Guest House. part of the nationwide Kibbutz

twenty minutes away.
