In other medical studies, researchers have made progress in identifying the genetic mechanisms that determine why the disease is so often diagnosed within families.

Prostate cancer is now the most frequently diagnosed cancer in America. But while the disease now affects one out of every six  American men, investment in research to find a cure lags far behind other diseases.
